Purpose: The purpose of this award is to acknowledge, reward, and uplift black behaviorist contributions within the ABA community. Nominees must have done outstanding clinical, research, and/or organizational development work. The nominees must have contributed valuable efforts that have been shown to be effective in local, national, and/or international communities utilizing behavioral analysis. This award is able to go to an individual and/or organization from the private or public sector. BABA membership is not required.

Target Audience: Black clinical practitioners, Black researcher, Black owned and/or Black led (C-suite) organizations.

Required Materials:

  • Application (must fill out all parts)
  • The nominee must be nominated by another individual or organization (no self nominations
  • Brief description of your relation to the nominee
  • Contributions of the nominee
  • Letter of recommendation providing a rationale for why this nominee should be considered, nominee contributions, and a description impact on the community of their contributions

Recipients will receive the following benefits:

  • Free registration to conference (research team if applicable)
  • Travel/lodging accommodations for conference (first author only)
  • Trophy acknowledgement at the Awards Ceremony at the Richard C. Spates Reception Hall
  • Free BABA membership (research team)

Awardee(s) will be notified by March 30th so that they can plan accordingly.
