Description: BABA developed this award to continue on a legacy of Black behaviorist(s) who has not been properly documented or historically left out in ABA history and acknowledge the efforts of Black clinicians, researchers, and organizations.

Purpose: The purpose of this award is to acknowledge notable research contributions conducted by a black individual and/or research team within the field of ABA. Research areas can be conducted across all disciplines applicable to behavior analysis. The research must have a significant impact on the behavior analysis community.

Required Materials:

  • Application (must fill out all parts)
  • The nominee must be nominated by another individual or organization (no self nominations
  • Brief description of your relation to the nominee
  • Contributions of the nominee
  • Letter of recommendation providing a rationale for why this nominee should be considered, nominee contributions, and a description impact on the community of their contributions

Recipients will receive the following benefits:

  • Free registration to conference (research team if applicable)
  • Travel/lodging accommodations for conference (first author only)
  • Trophy acknowledgement at the Awards Ceremony at the Richard C. Spates Reception Hall
  • Free BABA membership (research team)

Awardee(s) will be notified by March 30th so that they can plan accordingly.
